Deco Glam Sew-Along DETAILS!

JOIN US FOR A DECO GLAM SEW-ALONG!

If you've been wanting to make your own Deco Glam quilt, I have a ton of resources and tips for you that I've shared during our 2025 sew-along. I've decided to keep the blog posts up on my website so you can still use this valuable resource!

HOW DOES IT WORK? We'll sew a different section of the pattern each week, with a few more tips and tricks on this blog. By the end of each week, you are welcome to post your progress on Instagram, and cheer each other on!

WHAT YOU'LL NEED

PATTERN: You can buy the "Deco Glam" pattern on Etsy ! (If you're in the US, you can also buy it on my website)

KITS (US): Sewfinity has kits in KONA and Riley Blake fabric and Pear Tree Market has kits in Moda Bella Solids.

KITS (Germany): Quiltzauberei has kits in KONA fabrics and Floyd The Fox has kits in AGF fabrics (in cover colors AND in some fun new colorways!)

YOUR OWN FABRIC COMBO: If you want to make your own color combo, you can play on PreQuilt to make your own colorway!

Other supplies you may need are:

12" Add-A-Quarter Ruler: Makes FPP so much quicker and seam allowances more consistent

Your favorite FPP paper - A Throw size quilt uses 72 pieces of paper for templates, so I use a ream of letter sized
Pacon white newspaperRegular printer paper works as well,
but it is harder to remove at the end.

Seam presser - I use Clover Roll & Press (I like it because I don't have to have a hot iron next to me when I'm sewing FPP!)

Batting - I highly recommend a black batting for quilts that have a black background fabric. For quilts with a medium to light background fabric, a natural or white batting is fine!

A cutting mat that's at least 8" x 24" (bonus points if it fits next to your machine for FPP)

50wt thread that matches your background fabric or a neutral grey/dark grey thread works as well.

Once you're ready, here are my blog posts with lots of tips! You don't have to adhere to the schedule, but it may help break down the steps into manageable chunks.

WEEK 1 - Choosing fabric and cutting

WEEK 2 - Create FPP fans

WEEK 3 - Make extended fans

WEEK 4 - Assembly

WEEK 5 - Quilting & Finishing

I want to see your creations! If you're making a Deco Glam quilt, please share on Instagram or Facebook and tag me @GingerlyQuiltCo, so I can see it and cheer you on!
