GRIMOIRE Sewalong - all you need to know
Share

If you've missed our epic Grimoire sewalong, no problem! You can find the weekly tips here:
Week 1 - Prep
Week 2 - Create a Frame (Banner or Twin)
Week 3 - Sewing Blocks - FPP and piecing tips
Week 4 - Quilting your Blocks
Week 5 - Assembly

Supplies you may need are:
- 12" Add-A-Quarter Ruler: Makes FPP so much quicker and seam allowances more consistent
- Your favorite FPP paper - A Throw size quilt uses 72 pieces of paper for templates, so I use a ream of letter sized Pacon white newspaper. Regular printer paper works as well,
but it is harder to remove at the end.
- Seam presser - I use Clover Roll & Press (I like it because I don't have to have a hot iron next to me when I'm sewing FPP!)
- Batting - I highly recommend a black batting for quilts that have a black background fabric. For quilts with a medium to light background fabric, a natural or white batting is fine!
- A cutting mat that's at least 8" x 24" (bonus points if it fits next to your machine for FPP)
- 50wt thread that matches your background fabric or a neutral grey/dark grey thread works as well.
